What Are Quilters Blogging About Today?

Last weekend, my husband and I went to the Camp Kintail Crafter's Retreat--Christine, my usual accomplice at retreats, had other plans for the weekend so my husband agreed to go with me.  He did some reading and worked on weathering some model train cars.  We also went for several walks--it was a gorgeous sunny weekend. More things I have been making.  LOADS of pillow cases, some crib sheets and some self binding blankets.  I made a few more nap blankets too.  Trying to power through some of my fabric.  Although I do have to confess I bought Christmas flannel for the pillowcases.Four pirate self binding blankets. I find I am more creative if I don’t get too bogged down with larger projects. I intersperse smaller projects while making those larger time consuming ones. Last year, a lot of those smaller projects landed up being gifts.

My favorite of the projects, were these vintage wood egg cups that I made into pin cushions. I tried a variety of cushion fillers and in the end used felt balls. I used wood glue to glue in the balls to both the wood cups and these swan ceramic cups (its all I had on hand).

I have NOT been in the mood to sew lately.   I think I am still feeling the let down of the holiday and all the sewing I did right up to Christmas.   I have sewn a few things that were easy and used up some fabrics I had bought that were bulky.   I had bought some flannel to make holiday pillow cases for our bed but somehow just didn't get around to making them until last night.   Do you
